About Me

Dr. Faith Troupe

About Dr. Faith Troupe

For more than nine years, I have enjoyed helping individuals, couples and families navigate through whatever challenges arise. Everyone, even those in the most difficult situations, has the inner wisdom and strength to overcome the toughest obstacles. Using the strength you already have and proven tools and resources of therapy, together we will embark on a path of growth and healing.

I am a daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend. I am a product of my family - close and extended - dedicated community member, therapist, healer and teacher by nature. My deep connection with the relationships that comprise my life has helped shape my approach to therapy. Helping you evaluate the people in your life and how you interact with them is the first step in creating the transformation you seek.

I have always held a great amount of respect for the process of therapy. It is one of the few places where people can be vulnerable, trust in a proven system and transform into something better. I've known for quite some time that my purpose in life is to help others walk in their truth and realize their highest potential. As a fourteen year old in high school attempting to make sense of the world, I knew I wanted to help others understand life and all of its complexities.

When I'm not helping individuals, couples and families foster growth and deeper connections, I enjoy yoga, African dance and spending time with family and friends.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is systemic, interpersonal, and collaborative.  I consider the many cultural and sociopolitical situations my clients have experienced, along with family history, to inform my practice. Some of these situations and issues might have to do with: family history and culture, race, social class, sexual orientation, gender, disabilities, and more. As an interpersonal therapist, I value our relationship deeply and view it as a one that mimics the valuable personal and family relationships you already have. So, examining our relationship and providing an open, safe, and authentic connection is vital to my work with you. Finally, I see our work as collaborative and ultimately see you as the expert of your history and experience. To foster your growth, I draw from other methods including Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

My goal is to work with you to help you enhance your overall sense of happiness and well-being in a safe and supportive environment.
